Paula Garrido is a Clinical Psychologist and Couples Therapist with extensive experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges.

She has completed additional training in relationship counselling, couple and family therapy through the Australian Institute of Relationship Studies and has worked as a Couple and Family Therapist with Relationships Australia. Paula has also undertaken Gottman Method training, drawing on evidence-based approaches to help couples strengthen their relationships and create lasting change.

Paula works with couples facing a wide range of concerns, including communication difficulties, recurring conflict, trust and intimacy issues, emotional disconnection, life transitions, parenting challenges, infidelity recovery, and navigating differing relationship needs and expectations. She also works with couples in non-monogamous relationships and those within the LGBTQ+ community, providing a respectful, inclusive, and non-judgmental therapeutic space.

Her approach focuses on helping couples improve communication, deepen emotional connection, rebuild trust, and develop practical skills to navigate challenges together. Paula believes that relationships can thrive when both partners feel heard, understood, and supported.

Alongside her relationship work, Paula has experience supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, self-esteem difficulties, autism, ADHD, and other mental health concerns. She has worked across a range of settings including public hospitals, community mental health services, private practice, and the NDIS.

Paula is known for her warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic practices, creating a safe and supportive environment where individuals and couples can work towards meaningful and lasting change.
